This is a bittersweet parting.
These shoes are sweet and I'm bitter.
I love these shoes.
They don't love my feet.
Silly me thought I could fit into an 8.
It would have been great except my toes started to turn purple.
Hmmm. What deep lesson can I take from this? You can't make someone love you if they don't, perhaps? Forcing the issue never results in anything good. Or maybe it's that all that glitters isn't gold...
Sigh.
If only I listened to my own advice more.
